Backhoe return for Komatsu
Komatsu Europe is re-entering the backhoe loader market some years after saying that it felt the machine type would disappear from Western Europe, to be replaced my mini excavators.

Now, Enrico Prandini, managing director of Komatsu Italia Manufacturing, said that the launch of the new machine, which had taken only two years, was a sign that the company was flexible and could respond to market developments.
Volvo launch new demolition-spec excavator
VOLVO Construction Equipment say they have launched the ‘industry’s most versatile multi-use demolition excavator’. Based on the company’s EC750E general-purpose excavator, the new EC750E HR has been reengineered for high-reach deconstruction work in the Stage IV/Tier 4 Final-regulated markets of Europe and North America.

Hitachi and CSIRO to cooperate on research and development
Hitachi has joined forces with the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) to develop technologies for mining equipment.

The two companies will collaborate on research and development projects in artificial intelligence (AI), security, material tracking, urban systems, Internet of Things (IoT) sensing, autonomous systems and more.
