Japanese manufacturer Yanmar is to acquire US-based compact tracked and wheeled skid steer loader producer ASV for US$70.7 million.
Goscor Earth Moving (GEM), part of the Goscor Group, has launched SANY’s SY750 excavator into the Africa mining market and received a positive response from the continent’s miners.
The SY750 is a primary loading tool for the mining industry, from open pit to alluvial diamond mining.

Genie is launching the production of the new Genie S-65 XC telescopic boom lift at its factory in Umbertide, Italy, for the EMEAR region (Europe, Middle East, Africa and Russia).
With a maximum working height of 21.81 m (71 ft), this new model is the latest addition to the expanding Genie Xtra Capacitiy (XC) boom lift range.
Like all Genie XC boom lifts, the new S-65 XC boom offers a dual lift capacity of 300 kg (660 lb) unrestricted and 454 kg (1,000 lb) restricted to work with up to three people onboard while still leaving room for tools and jobsite materials.

Komatsu today announced it is accelerating the development of smaller drills for surface mining applications. Furthering its commitment to be a full solutions provider to the mining industry, Komatsu is expanding its P&H product line to include articulating boom track drills. The first machine in the series, the 44XT, is now being tested at the company’s Arizona Proving Grounds prior to release later this year. The 44XT is capable of drilling 4” to 8” (102 to 203 mm) diameter holes using down-the-hole (DTH) percussive hammers. Kobelco Construction Machinery has announced new 300 and 350 tonne capacity lattice boom crawler cranes.
The Japanese manufacturer will offer the 300 tonne (at 5.5 metre radius) CKE3000G for Europe, 330 US ton CK3300G-2 for North America and the 300 tonne CKS3000, described as a Standard model. In super heavy lift (SHL) specification capacity is increased to 350 tonnes.
They are described as multi-purpose “All Rounder” cranes for handling all sorts of applications, loads and job sites. To accomplish this, attachments include fixed jib, heavy fixed jib and luffing jib. For heavier lifts there is a super heavy lift configuration, also with a luffing jib.
