Volvo CE to go electric on smaller machines

Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) has revealed that, by mid-2020, it will begin to launch a range of electric compact excavators (EC15 to EC27) and wheeled loaders (L20 to L28) and stop new diesel engine-based development of these models.

Electric Site delivers ‘groundbreaking’ results

VOLVO Construction Equipment and their customer Skanska have recorded groundbreaking results from their Electric Site research project, including a 98% reduction in carbon emissions.

The two firms have been testing the viability of the Electric Site over the last 10 weeks at Skanska’s Vikan Kross Quarry, near Gothenburg, Sweden.

Volvo CE moves into new headquarters

Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) has moved into new headquarters on the same site as other Volvo business areas at Campus Lundby in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) will re-enter the rigid hauler market with its own brand of rigid haulers in the second quarter of 2018.

Atlas divests concrete, compact division

Atlas Copco has announced it has agreed to divest its concrete and compaction business to Husqvarna Group’s Construction division. The purchase price has not been disclosed.

Atlas’ concrete and compaction business achieved revenues of around €57 million in 2016. Husqvarna Group will retain the division’s 200 members of staff, Atlas Copco has confirmed.
